Ernst & Young, or EY, is one of the largest professional services firms in the world. Through their four integrated service lines — Assurance, Advisory, Tax and Transaction Advisory Services — and their deep sector knowledge, EY helps their clients capitalize on new opportunities and assess and manage risk to deliver responsible growth.
Early 2019, EY unveiled their newly designed downtown LA space located in the financial district. The space was redesigned with the goal of fostering more flexibility, collaboration and creativity for its employees, of which 70 percent are millennials. The new office provides a variety of work settings and advances technologies.
“We’ve been in Downtown LA for nearly 100 years and it was important to us to stay in our current location while also infusing the space with new energy, improved technology and creative inspiration,” said EY Los Angeles Office Managing Partner Patrick Niemann. “We’ve had 90% growth in our LA office workforce the last ten years. Ultimately, we wanted to create an environment that would enable us to continue to grow, attract top local talent, accommodate diverse work styles and provide our people with an inspiring space that allows them to thrive and do their best work.”
In partnership with H. Hendy Associates, Tangram provided furniture, including workstations, for the 2000-person office with 50% of them ergonomic sit-to-stand desks. Workspaces were tech-enhanced to allow for increased mobility, teaming and efficiency, and furniture was provided for the various office amenity spaces, from the coffee bub to collaboration rooms to wellness rooms.
This updated space is part of an initiative to provide energizing and efficient environments for its workforce. Furniture was carefully selected by Tangram to support each individual’s freedom in workstyle with a particular focus on ergonomics and wellness. In offering its people more choice in where, when and how works gets done, EY allows them to better deliver exceptional client service.
