Overview:

HRL Laboratories Lost Hills Hub was previously a traditional office space with a focus on workstations. Their goal for their new location, in partnership with M&G Architects, AGID, and Tangram, was to incorporate a variety of spaces into their floorplan to allow for employees to gather, lounge, work, and eat throughout the day. Additionally, the design intent was to pull aesthetic inspiration from the surrounding California landscape between HRL's Malibu and Calabasas locations.

Tangram provided furniture throughout their space from a variety of manufacturers, including Steelcase, Arcadia, Hightower, BuzziSpace, Bernhardt, Arper, West Elm, and NaughtOne. Our team furnished a wide variety of settings, including various collaborative and lounge spaces, the open work area, private offices, and the café.

All materials and colors selected pulled inspiration from California nature, with sunset hues, ocean-inspired blues, and bold grass greens. Biophilia was incorporated throughout the space and there was a lot of playfulness in the furniture forms, with soft, rounded edges and BuzziSpace BuzziCactus that was both an acoustical and aesthetic addition.
