International Leadership of Texas (ILTexas) is a public charter school network with a mission to prepare students for exceptional leadership roles in the international community. The Arlington Grand Prairie High School campus was a full ground-up reconstruction that now provides a robust and modern learning environment for students and staff.

Project Goals

ILTexas approached this project with a clear set of needs rooted in function, flexibility, and fiscal responsibility.

• Budget-conscious standards were a top priority, with Tangram tasked to adhere to pre-established guidelines tailored to ILTexas’s unique needs and operational practices.
• The environment needed to support collaborative learning and staff efficiency while reinforcing the school’s values of servant leadership and multicultural communication.
• Furniture selections needed to be durable, educationally effective, and aligned with modern aesthetics appropriate for both high school students and professionals.

• Media Center: A central hub on the second floor—furnished with soft seating, café-height tables, and modular pieces—creating a dynamic space for student research, reading, and group work.
• STEM & Science Rooms: Outfitted with lab-ready tables, durable casework, and mobile storage to support chemistry, robotics, and other specialized instruction.
• Cafeteria & Outdoor Picnic Areas: Built for high-traffic durability, these spaces are equipped with cleanable, communal furnishings that encourage student interaction and comfort.
• Main Lobby & Conference Spaces: Modern, branded seating and clean-lined tables contribute to a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience.
• Career Center: Designed as a multifunctional support area, with flexible furnishings to accommodate advising, testing, and student services.

Our Approach‍

Tangram’s team collaborated closely with ILTexas stakeholders to implement budget-aligned standards established through years of partnership. The selections blended economy, resilience, and style, utilizing manufacturers such as Alumni, CEF, Kimball, Steelcase, HON, OTG, Global, Lesro, KI, Fleetwood, and others.

Particular emphasis was placed on the Media Center and Level 2 Common Area, as these spaces represent ILTexas’s evolving approach to student life—integrating informal collaboration zones within academic environments to encourage peer engagement and leadership development.

Results and Impact

The Arlington Grand Prairie High School campus now serves over 100 staff members and countless students in a facility that blends academic rigor with modern design. Tangram's comprehensive furniture package supported the district’s vision to reimagine the student experience while staying true to its mission and budget.
