As a startup, Illumina aspired to transform human health and is now a world leader in genomics by unlocking the power of the genome. Headquartered in San Diego, CA, Illumina anticipates outgrowing their current headquarters within the next year. Tangram Interiors collaborated with Illumina and Perkins+Will on the i3 project, which is a new campus build comprised of three 100,000 square foot customizable buildings overlooking the 5 freeway less than a quarter mile from their current headquarters. Providing access to several amenity spaces, a fitness center and commercial kitchen, this new campus will house Illumina’s expanding employee base while creating an atmosphere of connectivity, innovation and collaboration.

Tangram has continued a growing partnership with Muraflex and for the i3 project was able to showcase the performance capabilities of the Muraflex MIMO product over standard interior glazing products. As a result, Tangram was contracted to provide glass fronts on the totality of the i3 project. This product advantage as well as Tangram’s wealth of experience with architects and general contractor’s needs lead to a successful partnership and a campus that engages, inspire, and reinvigorate even the most storied organizations.
