Brookfield Residential
Creating a Fusion of Brand Identity, Warmth, and Functionality
Understanding what drives the need for change
Brookfield Residential arrived at their Costa Mesa location with an ambitious vision that seemed almost contradictory at first glance. As a distinguished real estate development company, they understood the power of residential environments to create comfort and connection. Their challenge was to translate that same warmth and elegance into a corporate office setting without sacrificing the professional functionality their business demanded.
The delicate balance they sought required more than simply placing residential furniture in an office building. They needed a space that would genuinely embody their brand identity while fostering the creativity and collaboration essential to their work. The question became: how do you create an environment that feels like home while maintaining the infrastructure and technological capabilities of a high-performing corporate workspace?
How we brought the vision to life
Alyssa Armesto of Tangram Interiors stepped forward to lead this transformation, partnering closely with architectural powerhouses Gensler and HBC. Rather than approaching this as a traditional office design project, the team treated it as an exercise in cultural translation—taking the DNA of residential design and carefully weaving it into a corporate framework.
Tangram Interiors became the curator of this vision, meticulously sourcing furnishings, finishes, and design elements that would bridge both worlds. The approach centered on sumptuous textures that invited touch, refined color palettes that soothed rather than stimulated, and furnishings that felt approachable yet professional. Every selection served dual purposes: enhancing the aesthetic appeal while supporting the practical demands of daily business operations. The team understood that true success would come not from compromise, but from finding solutions that elevated both the residential comfort and corporate efficiency.
