The traditional office layout that had served them well was no longer enough to attract top talent or accommodate the diverse work styles of their 2,000 employees.
The firm's Los Angeles Office Managing Partner knew they needed to honor their historic roots while embracing the future. The goal was ambitious: create an inspiring environment that would foster flexibility, collaboration, and creativity while supporting continued growth. How we brought the vision to life
Tangram partnered with HOK to reimagine what a modern professional services workplace could be. Rather than simply updating furniture, we approached this as a comprehensive workspace transformation that would support 2,000 individuals with vastly different work preferences and needs.
Our strategy centered on choice and wellness. We designed a furniture ecosystem that included ergonomic sit-to-stand workstations for half the workforce, recognizing that movement and posture flexibility directly impact productivity and employee satisfaction. Beyond individual workspaces, we curated furnishings for the full spectrum of work experiences – from energizing coffee hubs that spark spontaneous collaboration to focused wellness rooms where employees could recharge. Every piece was selected with ergonomics and adaptability in mind, ensuring the space could evolve with changing work patterns while maintaining the professional standards expected by both employees and clients.
