Tangram Transforms Lee Andrews Group's Downtown Office into a Playfully Elegant and Feminine Oasis
Understanding what drives the need for change
When Lee Andrews Group, a boutique public affairs firm, decided to relocate their 40-person team to the prestigious 12th floor of THE BLOC in downtown Los Angeles, they saw more than just a change of address. They envisioned a complete departure from their previous workspace filled with traditional private offices, cubicles, and bulky wood furniture that felt more corporate than creative.
President and CEO Stephanie Graves had a clear vision: as the leader of a female-owned company in the competitive world of public affairs, she wanted a space that would set them apart from every other firm in the industry. The goal wasn't just professional functionality, but creating an environment that felt inviting and playful while maintaining the sophisticated edge needed for high-stakes communications work.
The challenge lay in translating this vision into a physical space that could harness the energy of their incredible downtown views while reflecting the unique personality of their growing team.
How we brought the vision to life
Tangram embraced the opportunity to create something truly distinctive, working closely with Stephanie and her team to understand how a thoughtfully feminine aesthetic could enhance rather than soften their professional edge. The design partnership began with a comprehensive workplace transformation that moved away from traditional private offices toward an open, collaborative environment.
Rather than defaulting to standard corporate palettes, Tangram curated a carefully balanced collection of furniture and elements from trusted partners including Steelcase, OFS, DeskMakers, SnowSound, and ROOM. The design centered around creating moments of calm within the bustling energy of downtown Los Angeles.
Clean white surfaces provided a sophisticated foundation, while whimsical touches of teal and pink added personality without overwhelming the professional atmosphere. Strategic elements like the Calm Phone Booth offered private retreat spaces, while the Sagegreenlife Living Wall brought nature indoors, creating an environment that felt both zen and motivating.
Every decision was made to complement and enhance those stunning 12th-floor views that would serve as the backdrop for important client meetings and creative brainstorming sessions.
