Understanding what drives the need for change
Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope’s (OBE) new Dallas headquarters presented an opportunity to deliver a fully integrated, technology-forward workplace from the ground up—with no legacy systems to rely on.
As a brand-new office build, the client needed a complete AV and technology ecosystem that would support over employees across a variety of environments, from open collaboration areas to executive offices and conference rooms. The challenge was to ensure that every space was equipped with intuitive, reliable technology that worked seamlessly from day one.
A key priority was creating a workplace that supports hybrid collaboration at a high level, delivering an equitable experience for both in-person and remote participants. This required thoughtful coordination of cameras, audio, and display systems across multiple room types.
At the same time, the solution needed to remain cost-conscious, balancing performance with budget while still delivering a premium user experience. Oldcastle also wanted to reinforce their brand throughout the space, leveraging digital signage and visual technology to create a cohesive, branded environment.
Finally, the project required close coordination with a technology design consultant (NOVOM) and other trades to ensure that all infrastructure—cabling, mounting, and device placement—was precisely integrated into the architectural environment.
How we brought the vision to life
Tangram partnered with OTJ Dallas and NOVOM to deliver a comprehensive, scalable technology solution tailored to the needs of a modern headquarters.
The strategy centered on simplicity and reliability. Across all environments, technology was standardized and thoughtfully integrated to ensure users could easily schedule rooms, launch meetings, and collaborate without friction. Room scheduling systems were deployed throughout office and meeting spaces, enabling both advance booking and ad hoc use.
To support high-quality hybrid meetings, conference rooms and collaboration areas were equipped with integrated AV systems, including AVer and Vaddio cameras, Biamp sound systems, and high-resolution displays such as Samsung TVs and Planar video walls. These components were selected to create a seamless experience for both in-person and remote participants. Displays, cameras, and connectivity were carefully positioned to optimize sightlines and performance across different room sizes.
The workplace also incorporates BrightSign digital signage players paired with display solutions in reception and shared spaces like the work café, helping reinforce company branding while improving communication and wayfinding.
From an infrastructure standpoint, the solution was built on a robust, coordinated backbone. AV, sound masking, and network systems were distributed across open workspaces, conference rooms, and support areas to ensure consistent coverage and performance.
Careful coordination with NOVOM and trade partners ensured that all systems—from cabling pathways to device mounting—were installed to meet code, performance standards, and long-term scalability requirements.
