The Challenge

Understanding what drives the need for change

When Pritzker Group decided to establish their Los Angeles presence, Managing Partner Anthony Pritzker envisioned more than just another corporate office. He wanted a workspace that would embody the bright, modern spirit of Southern California while serving as a sophisticated gallery for his museum-quality contemporary art collection. The challenge was creating an environment that could seamlessly blend professional elegance with the vibrant energy of six new art acquisitions, all while reflecting the firm's commitment to employee wellness and flexible work styles.

The space needed to strike a delicate balance between showcasing Pritzker's personal art collection and maintaining the serious, professional atmosphere required for high-level business operations. Additionally, the firm wanted to embrace Southern California's casual yet refined culture while ensuring the design could adapt to various work preferences and support their team's health and well-being.

Our Approach

How we brought the vision to life

Tangram's design team approached this project as a curatorial exercise, treating the office as both a functional workspace and an art gallery. We created a sophisticated neutral backdrop using pure white gloss paint and solid surfaces, allowing the vibrant contemporary artworks to take center stage while establishing a timeless professional foundation. The firm's new orange corporate color was strategically woven throughout the space as accent pieces rather than overwhelming focal points.

Recognizing the importance of Los Angeles' abundant natural light, we designed private offices with modular glass wall and door systems that flood interior workstations with daylight while providing stunning city views. The layout positioned collaborative workstations internally, connected by casual meeting benches that encourage spontaneous interactions. To support Pritzker Group's wellness commitment, we specified customized workstation casework and integrated sit-stand desks throughout, while orange swivel chairs in reception and phone areas offer employees choices in where and how they work.
