Understanding what drives the need for change
Tangram's Downtown Los Angeles showroom faced a unique dilemma: how to demonstrate the power of modular wall systems while maintaining full showroom operations. The space needed to transform from an open environment into functional rooms that could serve as living examples of Falkbuilt's capabilities, all without disrupting daily client meetings or creating the dust and chaos typical of construction projects.
The real challenge went beyond logistics. The design team, led by Meg Moussamih and Cassie Stepanek, didn't want to simply install walls—they wanted to create individual spaces that told a cohesive story about innovation in workplace construction. Each new room needed to feel intentional and integrated, not like an afterthought added to an existing space. The solution would need to showcase Falkbuilt's extensive customization options while proving that rapid, clean construction could deliver results indistinguishable from traditional methods.
How we brought the vision to life
The design partnership centered on strategic storytelling through space. Moussamih and Stepanek selected two distinct Falkbuilt systems to demonstrate versatility: McNally solid walls for privacy and focus, paired with Kai glass walls featuring both framed pin hinge and sliding doors to showcase transparency and flexibility. The team carefully coordinated finishes and configurations to ensure the new rooms felt like natural extensions of the existing showroom environment.
Recognizing the educational potential of the space, the designers integrated recessed touchscreen monitors that would allow sales teams to access Falkbuilt documentation and videos while clients experienced the product firsthand. This technological integration transformed the showroom from a static display into an interactive learning environment. The design process emphasized Falkbuilt's single-trade installation advantage, allowing one specialized crew to complete the entire transformation while the showroom remained fully operational.
