WPT Enterprises
Mixing On-Trend Color and Materiality for a High-End Space with Personality
Understanding what drives the need for change
When WPT Enterprises, the creator of the World Poker Tour, decided to relocate their 50-person headquarters to a new 11,500 square-foot space in Irvine, they faced a unique design challenge. As the premier name in internationally televised poker and entertainment, WPT had ignited the global poker boom since 2002 with their innovative television show featuring high-stakes tournaments. Their new workspace needed to reflect this bold, playful personality while maintaining the sophistication their brand demanded.
The company sought an interior that would capture their youthful energy and gaming heritage without compromising on functionality or breaking their budget. They needed a space that could accommodate their diverse workforce with ergonomic workstations, collaborative meeting areas, and comfortable lounge spaces where creativity could flourish. The challenge was clear: create a high-end environment that felt both premium and accessible, mirroring the excitement of their televised tournaments while supporting the daily operations of a growing entertainment company.
How we brought the vision to life
Tangram embarked on a collaborative design partnership with WPT Enterprises and their design team, diving deep into understanding the company's culture and operational needs. We recognized that this wasn't just about furnishing an office – it was about creating a physical manifestation of the WPT brand experience. Our team curated a comprehensive furniture solution that would balance the playful spirit of poker with the professionalism of a leading entertainment company.
Drawing from nine carefully selected manufacturers including Steelcase, Design Within Reach, CB2, and Blu Dot, we crafted a cohesive design narrative that spanned every corner of the space. Height-adjustable workstations provided flexibility for the diverse work styles of their team, while thoughtfully designed conference areas and lounge furniture created spaces for both focused collaboration and casual interaction. The color and material palette we developed was intentionally on-trend yet timeless, ensuring the space would feel fresh and contemporary while supporting the company's long-term growth. Every piece was chosen not just for its aesthetic appeal, but for its ability to contribute to a workspace that truly captured the essence of WPT's innovative and dynamic character.
