Public buildings carry a distinct responsibility: they must support the people who serve the community while remaining accessible and welcoming to the public.
Tangram Interiors recently completed two such projects in North Texas: the City of Lewisville Tittle-McFadden Public Safety Center and the City of Roanoke Municipal Building. Each was designed to support civic operations through thoughtful planning and performance-driven interiors.
In Lewisville, the new Tittle-McFadden Public Safety Center consolidates police and fire operations into a modern facility designed to support high-performance, 24/7 public safety work. The interiors were planned with durability and efficiency in mind, providing officers and first responders with workspaces that support coordination and rapid response.
“Public safety environments demand solutions that perform under pressure,” said Lauren Ghizzoni, a Tangram Interiors sales executive. “Every furniture selection and layout decision at the Lewisville Public Safety Center was made to support the demanding work that happens there every day.”
The space includes private work areas, collaborative zones, dedicated sleep quarters, interview rooms, and training spaces designed to support long shifts and evolving operational needs. Materials were selected for durability and ease of maintenance, while the overall layout promotes clear circulation and a thoughtful separation between public-facing areas and secure, staff-only zones.
“Tangram took the time to understand both our operational needs and our aesthetic goals, and the result is a space that functions beyond our expectations,” said Chief Brook Rollins, Chief, Lewisville Police Department.
In Roanoke, Tangram Interiors supported the City’s new Municipal Building, creating interiors that serve both city staff and the public. The project was designed to reflect transparency, approachability, and efficiency above all else.
The building includes administrative offices alongside critical spaces such as courtrooms, interview rooms, and training areas, each designed to support privacy, clarity, and day-to-day functionality. Throughout the facility, furniture and layout decisions promote accessibility, intuitive wayfinding, and a professional yet welcoming environment for residents engaging with city services.
“Municipal spaces should feel functional without feeling institutional,” said Ghizzoni. “The Roanoke Municipal Building strikes that balance by supporting staff productivity while creating a comfortable experience for the community.”
“Tangram’s coordination and forward-thinking approach made this project not only successful, but truly enjoyable. Their attention to detail showed throughout the entire process,” said Chief Jeff Williams, Chief of Police, Roanoke Police Department.
Across both projects, Tangram Interiors worked closely with city stakeholders and project partners to align design decisions with operational requirements, budget considerations, and long-term use. The result is a pair of civic spaces built to serve their communities today and adapt for years to come.
“This was one of the most significant projects in our city’s history,” said Chris Presley, Internal Service Manager, City of Lewisville. “Tangram exceeded expectations at every step. The transition into the new facility was smooth and stress-free.”
