# Welcome Mark Peters: Bringing Two Decades of Healthcare and Education Expertise to Tangram Dallas
We're excited to introduce Mark Peters, who has joined our Dallas team as Director of Healthcare and Education Sales. With over 20 years of experience in commercial design, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to creating environments that truly make a difference.
## From Salt Lake City to Texas: A Design Professional's Journey
Mark's path to Tangram began in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he first developed his passion for creating meaningful spaces. Now based in Frisco, Texas, he's ready to apply his extensive background to enhance healthcare and education environments across the region.
Most recently, Mark served as Manager of Education & Healthcare for Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana at Knoll, where he honed his expertise in understanding the unique challenges these sectors face. His experience spans the full spectrum of commercial design solutions, from initial concept through final implementation.
## Beyond the Office: A Well-Rounded Professional
When he's not collaborating with clients on transformative design solutions, you'll find Mark pursuing his passions outside the office. An avid cyclist, he enjoys both road and mountain biking—a hobby that reflects his appreciation for both precision and adventure. He's also an enthusiastic home cook who particularly loves crafting Friday night pizzas to kick off the weekend.
As a father to 18-year-old twin daughters, Mark understands firsthand how thoughtfully designed spaces impact daily life and development. This personal perspective adds depth to his professional approach when designing educational environments.
## Getting to Know Mark: Quick Takes
**Morning person or night owl?** Definitely a morning person. "Coffee is a good motivator, but why not get a jump on things with a strong start?"
**Dream casting for his life story?** Either Jason Bateman ("funny but committed") or Viggo Mortensen ("always delivers")
**How friends describe him:** Efficient, measured, and optimistic
**Team preference:** Dogs, without question
**Most memorable concert:** The Escape Club—a middle school choice he's willing to own up to
## The Impact of Thoughtful Design
What excites Mark most about his new role at Tangram is the opportunity to leverage his two decades of market experience in service of something bigger. "Our spaces and environments have a direct impact on the quality of our lives," he explains. "I've always believed an individual's health and education can change their life and the lives of those around them."
This philosophy drives Mark's approach to every project. Whether designing a cutting-edge medical facility or reimagining an educational space, he focuses on how the environment can actively support the people who use it daily.
## Looking Forward: Forward-Thinking Solutions
As Mark settles into his role with the Tangram team, he's eager to bring fresh perspectives to healthcare and education design challenges. His extensive experience across multiple markets provides valuable insights into regional needs and emerging trends.
"I'm looking forward to working with the Tangram team to deliver forward-thinking solutions that enhance our clients' environments and further the advancement of our community," Mark shares.
For commercial design professionals, Mark's arrival represents an opportunity to tap into decades of specialized knowledge in two of the most critical sectors for community wellbeing. His combination of technical expertise, market understanding, and genuine passion for meaningful design makes him a valuable addition to any project team.
Welcome to Tangram, Mark! We're thrilled to have your efficiency, optimism, and extensive experience as part of our growing Dallas team.
