Welcome Ping Chen, our newest Designer joining Tangram's California team! From Taipei to La Habra, she brings fresh perspective and sustainable design passion.

Please join us in welcoming Ping Chen to Tangram! She is joining the California team as a Designer. Originally from Taipei, Taiwan and now living in La Habra, California, Ping spends her weekends with the family making checking out new food spots. We are thrilled to have you here at Tangram, Ping!

1. First, what is your name and job title?

Ping Chen - Designer

2. Where is your hometown and where do you live now?

I’m originally from Taipei, Taiwan, and I now live in La Habra, California.

3. What type of company did you work at previously and what was your role there?

I previously worked at a Haworth dealer, where I was a designer

4. What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

I like to relax, spend time with family, explore new food spots, and occasionally check out new spaces for design inspiration.

5. When people visit your town, what are the top local spot(s) you recommend to them?

I’d recommend checking out Downtown Brea for great food and a nice walkable atmosphere

6. What's a topic you wish you knew more about or a skill you want to learn/improve?

I’m interested in continuing to grow in sustainable design and staying up to date with new materials. I’m also interested in how AI can be integrated into the design process to improve efficiency.

7. Tell us about the best or most memorable meal you've cooked or eaten! What made it special?

The most memorable meal I’ve had was at Central in Lima, Peru. What made it special was how each dish represented a different elevation of Peru’s landscape, with every course telling a unique story through its ingredients and presentation. It was an amazing experience!!

8. What is your favorite memory from the past year?

One of my favorite memories from the past year was traveling and exploring new places, especially experiencing different foods and cultures. It was a refreshing and inspiring experience.

9. Show us your true colors! Which professional and/or college team(s) do you cheer for?

I don’t follow any one team closely, but I enjoy supporting local teams and the sense of community and excitement that comes with sports.

10. What are you most looking forward to at Tangram and what do you hope to bring to the team?

I’m really looking forward to being part of Tangram and contributing to thoughtful, well-designed environments. I’m especially excited about the opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects.
