Tangram Announces Luis Carmona’s Promotion to VP of Operations + Jack Hooven’s Retirement

Tangram, a curator of highly creative commercial interior environments and workspaces headquartered in Southern California, has announced the retirement of COO Jack Hooven and the promotion of Luis Carmona to Vice President of Operations. After working with Tangram for more than two decades, Chief of Operations Jack Hooven officially retired on March 1, 2023. He expressed immense gratitude for his time with the team, but also excitement for the business’s future in the hands of his successor.

“After 41 years in dealer operations, I have decided to retire to spend more time with my wife, check off some bucket list items, and maybe play a few rounds of golf,” stated Hooven. “I want to send a special thank you to our entire operations group. I am so proud of everything you do to contribute to Tangram’s success. I truly believe we are the best in the business.”

Hooven proudly announced that Luis Carmona will be stepping up to take on most of his responsibilities as the new VP of Operations. Carmona will be coordinating operation efforts in both California and Texas, as well as implementing a standardized process for supporting the Tangram sales staff.

Carmona has been in the contract furniture industry since 1986. He began his career as an Installation Technician at one of the largest Steelcase dealerships in Southern California, then moved up the ranks to become the Director of Program Management. He has now been with Tangram for a decade.

“During Luis’s tenure at Tangram, he has shown an exemplary ability to lead, manage, and problem solve,” said Hooven. “I am confident he will do an outstanding job at taking Tangram to the next level as our new VP of Operations. Please join me in congratulating him on this well-deserved promotion.”

Tangram curates destinations that empower people to work, learn, and heal. In addition to its core contract furniture offering, the company operates multiple additional business units for a comprehensive approach to commercial interiors. This range of services allows for top-to-bottom involvement that integrates each aspect of planning, design, and installation.
