# Tangram Named Among "Best Places to Work in Orange County"

Tangram has earned recognition as one of the "Best Places to Work in Orange County" for 2018 by the Orange County Business Journal, ranking sixth in the Large Companies category. This achievement reflects our commitment to creating exceptional workplace environments—not just for our clients, but for our own team.

## The Recognition Process

The Orange County Business Journal's Best Places to Work program evaluates companies through a comprehensive two-part process. First, workplace policies, practices, benefits, and demographics are assessed. Second, employees participate in an engagement survey covering leadership, company culture, training, compensation, and benefits. Best Companies Group manages this rigorous evaluation to ensure accurate rankings.

This program, established in 2009, aims to strengthen Orange County's economy and workforce by highlighting employers who truly prioritize their people.

## Practicing What We Preach

"We pride ourselves in practicing what we preach," says Tangram CEO and President Joe Lozowski. "Our spaces are based on the latest workplace research, we're constantly updating and making improvements, and we provide our employees with the latest technology so they can do their best work."

This philosophy drives everything we do. Our office serves as a living laboratory where we test and refine design concepts before implementing them for clients. By staying current with workplace research and emerging technologies, we create environments that support both productivity and wellbeing.

## Building a Culture of Connection

For Lozowski, employee satisfaction goes beyond physical workspace design: "It's our belief that deep employee satisfaction is built on considering the physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing of our staff and creating a culture that makes this company a place they want to stay. Tangram is a big family, and I'm so proud that our employees echo that sentiment."

This family-oriented approach influences how we structure our workplace policies and daily interactions. When employees feel valued and connected, they bring that positive energy to every client project.

## Comprehensive Design Solutions

Our recognition as a top workplace stems partly from our holistic approach to commercial interior design. Tangram operates five specialized business units that cover:

- Custom furniture design and manufacturing - Technology integration - Flooring solutions - Wall systems and lighting - Acoustic treatments - Facility revitalization - Move management services

This comprehensive approach allows us to handle complex projects seamlessly while providing our team members with diverse, engaging work across multiple specialties.

## What This Means for Our Clients

When a design firm creates an outstanding workplace for its own employees, clients benefit directly. Our team's job satisfaction translates into:

- **Higher creativity and innovation** in design solutions - **Better collaboration** across project teams - **Stronger client relationships** built on genuine enthusiasm - **Consistent quality** driven by employee engagement

A satisfied workforce is more likely to go above and beyond for clients, bringing fresh perspectives and sustained energy to every project.

## The Bigger Picture

This recognition validates our belief that workplace design directly impacts business outcomes. When companies invest in their physical environment and company culture simultaneously, they create conditions for sustained success.

For commercial design professionals, this serves as a reminder that our work extends far beyond aesthetics. We're shaping environments where people spend significant portions of their lives. The responsibility—and opportunity—to positively impact employee wellbeing should inform every design decision we make.

As we continue growing, maintaining this workplace culture remains a priority. After all, the best commercial interiors come from teams who understand firsthand what makes a workplace truly exceptional.
