Before joining Tangram, Alex spent her career as a buyer for **Hurley International**, managing procurement operations across 26 factory stores spanning Florida, Texas, Arizona, and California. This multi-state retail experience gave her deep insights into inventory management, vendor relationships, and the operational complexities of running distributed retail locations.
"I'm most looking forward to learning about a completely new industry and working cross-functionally with different teams," Alex shares. Her transition from surf retail to commercial interior design represents the kind of fresh perspective that strengthens our team's problem-solving capabilities.
## Adventure-Driven Perspective
Alex's love for the outdoors isn't just a hobby—it shapes her professional approach. She describes herself as someone who enjoys "being outdoors, hiking, exploring, and hanging out in a pack," values that translate directly to collaborative teamwork and creative exploration in commercial design projects.
Her current personal mission? Visiting all 50 states by her 50th birthday. With 28 states already under her belt, Alex brings the same goal-oriented mindset to her professional endeavors. If she won the lottery, she'd pay off student loans first, then complete her cross-country adventure—a practical yet ambitious outlook that mirrors how we approach design challenges at Tangram.
