Tangram Ten // Amber Carlo

Please join us in welcoming Amber Carlo to Tangram! Amber is joining the team as a Corporate Trainer, bringing over 15 years of experience in Learning and Development with her. Find this die hard Patriots fan enjoying Mexican food or hanging with her two teenage children in her free time. Amber’s passion for learning will make her the perfect fit for this role— we look forward to her being an amazing resource here at Tangram. Welcome, Amber, we’re happy to have you!

1. Name, title?

Amber Carlo, Corporate Trainer.

2. Where is your hometown?

I grew up in Chino, CA and lived there until I married my husband Joe in 2000 and we moved to Ontario, CA. We bought a house and moved to Hesperia, with our two kids in 2006.

3. What type of company did you work at previously and what was your role there?

I have been in Learning and Development/Training for the past 15+ years.  Most of that time was spent in Property Management, but the last year and a half was in Air Medical which was fascinating.

4. What is something you recently crossed off your bucket list?

My husband and I are die hard Patriots fans and go to see them play in a different stadium most years.  Last year we went to New England and saw them play at their home stadium.  It was a trip of a lifetime starting with the game, touring Boston, eating dinner at Cheers, and visiting Plymouth Rock.  The trip checked many things off my bucket list.

5. How would you describe your favorite food to someone who’s never had it before?

My very favorite thing to eat is Mexican food.  I like everything about it.  The cheese— oh the cheese!  A little bit of spice with the red sauce, add in tender carnitas/pork, and it is like a party in your mouth.

6. If you could have lunch with someone famous (dead or alive) who would it be and why?

If I could have lunch with anyone, I would have to choose my dad.  He passed away when I was 4.  People who knew him tell me stories about what a cool dude he was.  I would love to get to know him over some Mexican food and a beer.

7. What are you most looking forward to in your new role at Tangram?

I am so excited to learn all about Tangram!  I’m looking forward to understanding the sales process, the customers, and learning how I can support the employees to build a successful career.  I can’t wait to jump in with both feet!

8. What is the bravest thing you’ve ever done?

The bravest thing I have ever done was marry a man who already had three kids.  I grew up with a stepdad, but never knew just how hard it is to be a stepparent.  Now, 20 years later, I can’t imagine my life without my husband Joe, my three bonus daughters Amanda (30), Stephanie (24), Makenzie (23) and our two teenagers Allie (16) and Joey (15).

9. How many donuts are you capable of eating in one sitting?

I mean, how many donuts are there?  I could probably eat all of them…ok, at least 3 without getting sick but way more if I can just lay around for the rest of the day.

10. What do you hope to bring to the Tangram team?

I hope to infect people at Tangram with my passion for learning.  I want people to be able to use me as a resource to learn and to get to the place in their career that they have always wanted to get to.
