# Tangram Ten: Cortney Corden
**Please join us in welcoming Cortney Corden to the Tangram family!** Our newest Designer brings a wealth of international experience to our Newport Beach office, having worked across design firms and universities throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe.
This Lansing, Michigan native draws creative inspiration from her extensive travels and cultural experiences—a perspective that promises to enrich our team's approach to commercial design challenges. We're excited to benefit from her fresh outlook, expertise, and dedication as she settles into her new role.
## Getting to Know Cortney: The Tangram Ten
**What type of work did you do previously?** I've worn many hats as a Designer, Project Manager, and Creative Initiatives Associate across various design firms and universities globally. Working in different cultural contexts has shaped how I approach design problems.
**If you won the lottery, what would be your first move?** I'd want to share the wealth and explore even more of the world. Travel and cultural experiences fuel my creativity and inform my design philosophy.
**If you were an animal, what would you be?** Definitely my Chinese Zodiac sign—the Dog. I'm friendly, loyal, and thrive in team environments. I'm dependable, straightforward, and have a strong sense of responsibility. Plus, autumn is my favorite season!
**One food for the rest of your life?** SUSHI! No explanation needed—I just love it.
**What excites you most about joining Tangram?** Solving the 'puzzles' of design projects that need to be both beautiful and highly functional for end users. I'm also eager to meet all the talented people on the Tangram team.
**Dream job growing up?** I was torn between becoming an architect or a teacher—both involve creating something meaningful and sharing knowledge with others.

**What do you hope to bring to Tangram?** My diverse background and expertise in tackling complex design challenges, combined with hard work, smart problem-solving, genuine heart, and maybe a bit of fun along the way.
