# Tangram Ten: Emily Fretland
**Meet the newest member of our growing team**
We're excited to introduce Emily Fretland, who recently joined Tangram's Human Resources team as an HR Generalist. With her background in aerospace manufacturing and a passion for building positive workplace culture, Emily brings both professional expertise and an infectious enthusiasm to our Seattle office.
## From Aerospace to Architecture
Emily graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 2015 with a degree in Business, then honed her HR skills at GM Nameplate, an aerospace manufacturing and tech company in Seattle. Her experience navigating the fast-paced world of aerospace manufacturing has prepared her well for the dynamic environment of commercial interior design.
"I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and tackling some really cool projects to add value to the Tangram team culture," Emily shares.
## Pacific Northwest Through and Through
Born and raised in Mukilteo, Washington, Emily embodies true Pacific Northwest spirit. She's a devoted Seahawks fan who still remembers the magic of their Super Bowl victory—especially since it happened to coincide with one of her most memorable personal achievements.
## Beyond the Office
Emily's personality shines through in her approach to both work and life. She's someone who doesn't back down from challenges, evidenced by an impressive feat of endurance: completing a marathon while battling stomach flu. Her adventurous spirit extends to her palate too—she recently tried pickled trout during a trip to Copenhagen.
When it comes to entertainment, Emily has strong opinions. She's watched *The Office* at least six times and would gladly host a charcuterie and wine party with Michael Scott as the guest of honor. Her karaoke repertoire includes Alicia Keys' "No One," though she admits this usually happens in the car with her sister rather than on an actual stage.

Emily's goal aligns perfectly with Tangram's values: creating a workplace where creativity and collaboration flourish. "I hope to help create a creative, fun and inviting environment for our current and future employees," she explains.
