## Tangram Ten // Liz Charney
We're excited to welcome Liz Charney to the Tangram team as our newest Designer in the Fresno office. With her background creating distinctive commercial environments and her fresh perspective from the Midwest, Liz brings valuable experience to our growing team.
Liz joins us from 505Design, where she specialized in crafting unique spaces for commercial properties—from retail storefronts and hospitality venues to mixed-use developments and multi-family communities. Her expertise in creating seamless interior-exterior amenity spaces aligns perfectly with today's demand for flexible, engaging commercial environments.
When she's not designing spaces, you'll find Liz exploring California's natural beauty. As both a fitness trainer and outdoor enthusiast, she recently checked off a major bucket list item: hiking through Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks with family and friends. Though she maintains her fitness goals religiously (admitting she can only handle half a donut without guilt), she does have a weakness for sea salt caramel ice cream.
We sat down with Liz to learn more about her background and what she's bringing to Tangram:
**What drew you to commercial design?** At 505Design, I focused on creating environments that truly serve their communities. Most of my projects centered on amenity spaces that blur the line between interior and exterior environments—spaces that become integral to how people experience a property.
**What are you most excited about in your new role?** I'm looking forward to learning about the dealer industry from one of California's largest Steelcase dealers. This is a chance to expand my design knowledge beyond traditional A&D work and understand how sales and business development drive successful projects. It's an educational challenge I'm ready for.
**What's the most adventurous thing you've done?** Taking the leap to move to the West Coast seven years ago without ever visiting or knowing anyone in the Bay Area. It was a risk that paid off—I've fallen in love with everything California has to offer, from the year-round hiking weather to the innovative design community.
**What do you hope to bring to Tangram?** Enthusiasm, a fresh creative perspective, and a collaborative approach to developing solutions for our clients. Coming from the Midwest, I bring a different viewpoint on how spaces can serve communities, and I'm excited to apply that to our projects.
Liz's combination of commercial design expertise, collaborative spirit, and genuine enthusiasm for the industry makes her a perfect addition to our Fresno team. Her experience with mixed-use and hospitality projects will be invaluable as we continue serving clients who need spaces that adapt to changing commercial demands.
