# Meet Robert Reynoso: Alaska Deckhand Turned Construction Expert
Tangram's Light Construction division just got stronger with the addition of Robert Reynoso as Project Manager. This San Diego native brings a unique blend of construction expertise and adventurous spirit that promises to energize our growing team.
## From Ocean Waves to Construction Sites
Robert's journey to commercial construction took some interesting detours. At 20, he traded California sunshine for Alaskan storms, working as a deckhand on commercial salmon fishing boats. Picture this: hauling massive nets full of salmon while hanging onto ropes in the middle of storms, with the captain shouting commands over howling winds. It's the kind of experience that builds both character and an unshakeable work ethic.
"I would have to hang onto the ropes of the net to keep from falling overboard while also bringing in the led rings," Robert recalls. "The captain would be screaming at me to let go of the rope."
That Alaskan adventure taught him teamwork under pressure—skills that translate perfectly to managing construction projects where coordination and quick decision-making are essential.
## Construction Expertise Meets Fresh Perspective
Before joining Tangram, Robert honed his skills as a job site foreman for a construction subcontractor specializing in commercial drywall and metal studs. This hands-on experience gives him invaluable insight into the practical challenges teams face on active job sites.
"I'm most looking forward to developing good working relationships with company personnel and taking on new challenges every day to improve my personal growth," Robert explains about his new role.
## Life Beyond the Job Site
When Robert isn't managing construction projects, you'll likely find him planning his next adventure. He recently crossed Ecuador off his bucket list, exploring the country with his wife. His love for the ocean runs deep—evidenced not just by his Alaskan fishing days, but by his passion for perfectly prepared grilled lobster tail (complete with detailed preparation instructions that would make any chef proud).
A devoted Los Angeles Clippers fan, Robert dreams of having lunch with Steve Ballmer to discuss both basketball strategy and leadership insights from his Microsoft days. It's this combination of sports enthusiasm and business curiosity that reflects his approach to professional growth.
## What This Means for Tangram's Light Construction Division
Robert's addition comes at an exciting time for our Light Construction team. His subcontractor background provides crucial perspective on project coordination, timeline management, and the practical realities of commercial construction.
"I hope to bring my enthusiasm for learning something new every day and my experience in construction to help develop the light construction division," Robert notes.
For our commercial design clients, this means working with someone who understands both the big picture and the nuts-and-bolts details that make projects successful. Robert's experience managing teams under pressure, combined with his commitment to continuous learning, positions him perfectly to help navigate the complexities of modern commercial construction.
## Welcome to the Team
From Alaskan fishing boats to San Diego construction sites to Tangram's growing Light Construction division, Robert's journey reflects the diverse experiences that strengthen our team. His enthusiasm, practical expertise, and collaborative approach make him a valuable addition to our continued growth.
Welcome aboard, Robert. We're excited to see how your unique perspective helps shape the future of our Light Construction division.
