# Tangram Ten: Meet Sherine Teymour
**Fresh perspective meets seasoned expertise** as we welcome Sherine Teymour to our Studio team as Design Consultant. With her impressive educational foundation and real-world experience in commercial design, Sherine brings exactly the kind of thoughtful approach that elevates every project.
## From Architecture to Interior Design Excellence
Sherine's journey began at the University of Michigan, where she earned her Bachelor's in Architecture before pursuing not one, but two Master's degrees in Lighting + Product Design and Environmental Design. This comprehensive educational background gives her a unique lens for approaching commercial spaces—understanding how lighting, products, and environments work together to create meaningful experiences.
Most recently, she honed her skills as an Interior Designer at LPA in Orange County, specializing in the education market. Her portfolio spans K-12 schools and higher education projects, including everything from engineering studios to college gyms and training facilities. This experience in educational environments—spaces that must balance function, durability, and inspiration—translates beautifully to all commercial design challenges.
## Beyond the Drawing Board
What sets Sherine apart isn't just her technical expertise. Her passion for travel and cultural exploration brings a global perspective to her design work. From solo backpacking through Morocco to sampling cricket in Mexico City (once was enough, she notes), these experiences inform her understanding of how different cultures interact with space.
**"One of the reasons I love furniture design so much is because it's so strongly linked to our human senses,"** Sherine explains. **"What we touch, see, and hear can drastically change how we feel in a space."**
This human-centered approach is exactly what today's commercial spaces need—design that goes beyond aesthetics to create environments that truly serve their users.
