# Meet Todd Bynon: Our New Chief of Staff Brings Military Precision and Aerospace Innovation to Tangram Studio
We're excited to introduce Todd Bynon, who recently joined Tangram Studio as Chief of Staff. With a unique blend of military discipline, aerospace industry expertise, and small-town Pennsylvania roots, Todd brings a fresh perspective that perfectly complements our growing team.
## From Air Force to Aerospace to Architecture
Todd's career journey reads like a masterclass in adaptability and precision. After serving ten years in the active duty U.S. Air Force, he transitioned into the civilian aerospace sector, where he spent five years as a Production Manager for Lisi Aerospace. This combination of military service and aerospace manufacturing has given him a distinctive approach to project management and operational efficiency—qualities that translate beautifully into the commercial design world.
"I've been around the world and have been exposed to a lot of great, and sometimes not-so-great experiences," Todd reflects. "I hope to bring all of that experience to the Tangram Studio team and make a lot of great new experiences along the way."
## Small Town Values, Big Dreams
Hailing from Hunlock Creek, Pennsylvania—a small town about 30 minutes south of Scranton (yes, Dunder Mifflin fans, that Scranton)—Todd maintains strong connections to his roots. When asked what he'd do if he won the lottery, his answer was refreshingly genuine: "Plan a trip back home to see my family. I don't get to go home as often as I'd like."
True to his Pennsylvania heritage, Todd still harbors dreams of becoming the starting center fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies. And if that doesn't work out? He's got backup plans involving becoming a National Park Forest Ranger. "Since I haven't grown up yet," he jokes, "I still have aspirations."
## The Personal Side of Professional Excellence
What makes Todd tick beyond the office? His wife's fried chicken, for one. "She'll never tell me what she puts in it that makes it so good, but I could eat my wife's fried chicken for every meal, every day!" It's this appreciation for life's simple pleasures that brings warmth to his professional approach.
His communication style is equally authentic. His most-used emoji? The clapping hands—"effectively used for congratulations or heavy sarcasm," he explains with characteristic humor.
## Why This Matters for Commercial Design
Todd's diverse background offers valuable insights for our industry. His experience managing complex aerospace production schedules translates directly to coordinating commercial design projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines. His military training in attention to detail and systematic problem-solving brings a fresh methodology to creative challenges.
"I'm excited to work with the creative, dynamic Studio team," Todd says. "I'm really looking forward to learning all aspects of the industry after spending my entire career in aerospace."
This cross-pollination of industries often sparks innovation. When professionals from outside traditional design fields join creative teams, they bring new frameworks for thinking about familiar challenges. Todd's systematic approach to project management, combined with his adaptability and global perspective, positions him to help streamline our operations while maintaining the creative excellence our clients expect.
## Looking Ahead
As Tangram Studio continues to grow and take on increasingly complex commercial projects, Todd's operational expertise will prove invaluable. His role as Chief of Staff positions him to support our creative teams with the infrastructure and processes needed to deliver exceptional results consistently.
The name Todd, incidentally, has old English and Scottish origins meaning "fox"—perhaps reflecting his cunning and strategic thinking, or maybe just his red hair. Either way, we're confident his blend of precision, adaptability, and humor will make him an integral part of our team's continued success.
Welcome aboard, Todd! We're excited to see how your unique perspective will contribute to Tangram Studio's evolution in the commercial design space.
