Overview:

Previously working from a very small startup-like office, The Trade Desk New York City required one central space that would accommodate all of their 500+ employees. Because Tangram has held a long-lasting and trusting relationship with The Trade Desk, successfully completing several of their offices across the nation, they were engaged by the company alongside architecture and design firm SOM to provide furniture and architectural walls for their beautiful new 96k sq ft East Coast flagship location at 1114 6th Avenue, New York, NY. This location boasts spectacular views throughout all five floors and furniture that matched the breathtaking nature of the office was a non-negotiable.

Thoroughly understanding the objective, Tangram worked closely with The Trade Desk and SOM to provide a varied collection of neutral mid-century modern inspired furniture for workstations, private offices, meeting rooms, huddle rooms, the lobby and the cafe.

Workstations - Steelcase Ology height adjustable desks with credenza storage were selected and equipped with low screens, providing an open environment. The stations were placed in rows and clusters of 8-10 throughout the perimeter of the building on each floor.

Private offices/meeting rooms/huddle rooms: Demountable Muraflex walls were installed throughout the five floors with Ology height adjustable desks, meeting tables and four desk chairs surrounding the tables. All spaces were equipped with technology for presenting and video conferencing capabilities. Each of these spaces offer a private environment for meetings while still allowing for natural light to shine into the spectacular building. All huddle rooms received D-shaped tables with Steelcase Cobi chairs. Gray neutral tones were outfitted in the space.

Lobby - Neutral, contemporary Bolia lounge chairs in gray, wood and white were spatially placed together for interaction encouragement, with complementary greens and an earthy neutral color palette incorporated throughout. Blu Dot provided the coffee tables.

Cafe (The Social Hub) - Poly Coalesse dining chairs in green and Stools in Coalesse Enea Scope have wood legs with a poly seat. The seating was designed to seat 6-8 people.

Tangram facilitated The Trade Desk to open up their office space and provide more solutions for their growing company. Tangram worked in tandem with the design firm SOM to offer The Trade Desk maximized work flexibility, a variety of meeting spaces and multiple lounge areas.

The brand’s culture and company were at the forefront of each curated furniture solution, paying homage to the local culture and particular location as well. The Trade Desk was involved in every step of the way, integrating the company’s needs in each element selected. The ultimate goal was to offer spaces that brought people together - whether it be for a formal meeting, impromptu collaboration session or to build rapport amongst employees.
