Understanding what drives the need for change
When AuditBoard, a fast-growing SaaS technology company specializing in enterprise audit and compliance software, decided to relocate their 100+ person workforce to a new headquarters in Cerritos, they faced a significant challenge. The company had recently been recognized as the leader in audit management, and their rapid growth demanded a workspace that could evolve alongside their expanding team while maintaining the collaborative, innovative spirit that defined their startup culture.
The existing space required a complete furniture refresh, but AuditBoard needed more than just functional pieces. They sought an environment that would foster the kind of creative collaboration and risk-taking that had made them industry leaders. The workspace needed to be both affordable and adaptable, supporting everything from focused individual work to spontaneous brainstorming sessions. Most importantly, it had to reflect their youthful energy without sacrificing the professionalism required to serve enterprise clients.
How we brought the vision to life
Tangram's design partnership with AuditBoard began with deep listening sessions to understand how their teams truly worked. Rather than imposing a rigid design vision, we collaborated closely to identify the specific moments and interactions that drove their success. Our approach centered on creating a purposeful space that could adapt to their evolving needs while injecting personality through thoughtful furniture selection.
We curated pieces from twelve carefully chosen manufacturers, including Steelcase, AMQ, Coalesse, and West Elm Work, selecting each item for its ability to contribute to both function and culture. The solution included versatile workstations that could be reconfigured as teams grew, comfortable task seating for long coding sessions, and a variety of collaborative spaces from formal conference rooms to casual lounge areas. Every piece was chosen to introduce playful elements through form, color, and texture, creating an environment that felt both professional and authentically AuditBoard.
