Elevating IRA Capital's Irvine Office into an Inviting Oasis of Aesthetics and Ambiance
Understanding what drives the need for change
When IRA Capital, a leading private equity firm specializing in alternative investments, relocated to their new headquarters in Irvine, California, they faced the task of transforming 13,000 square feet of raw office space into an environment that would reflect their sophisticated approach to business while fostering collaboration and wellbeing among their team. The firm sought to move beyond the traditional sterile corporate aesthetic that often defines financial services offices, instead envisioning a workspace that would feel organic, inviting, and energizing.
The challenge extended beyond mere aesthetics. IRA Capital needed a comprehensive solution that would accommodate diverse work styles and functions across multiple zones, from formal client meetings and private executive offices to open collaboration areas and casual dining spaces. The space needed to strike a delicate balance between professionalism and approachability, creating an environment where both employees and clients would feel comfortable and inspired.
How we brought the vision to life
Tangram collaborated closely with architecture firm MUL-MAC to develop a design strategy centered on organic forms and biophilic elements that would create a natural, calming atmosphere throughout the workspace. The design team carefully curated a sophisticated color palette featuring light neutrals and cool grays as the foundation, punctuated with strategic contrasting blacks to add visual depth and definition. This restrained approach to color allowed the organic architectural elements and carefully selected furnishings to take center stage.
The team strategically planned eight distinct functional zones, each tailored to specific workplace needs while maintaining visual and aesthetic continuity throughout the space. Premium furniture manufacturers including Steelcase, Viccarbe, Coalesse, AMQ, Design Public Group, Encore Seating, Enwork, Gus Modern, and Industry West were selected to provide furnishings that would support both form and function. The crown jewel of the design became the reception area, where visitors are welcomed by a striking biophilic wall feature that immediately establishes the space's connection to nature and sets the tone for the entire office experience.

Answer beam offers a wide range of low-height applications that define spaces and provide power access.
