Pacific Companies
Hotel-inspired workspace that serves as a destination worth commuting to
Understanding what drives the need for change
Pacific Companies, a premier physician recruitment agency with two decades of trusted healthcare placement expertise, faced a pivotal moment in their growth journey. As they prepared to relocate to a new 7,700-square-foot headquarters in Irvine, California, leadership recognized an opportunity to fundamentally reimagine their workplace experience. The traditional office model no longer served their vision for attracting and retaining top talent in an increasingly competitive market.
The company's ambitious goal was to create an environment that would rival the comfort and familiarity of working from home while providing compelling reasons for employees to embrace in-person collaboration. They needed a space that would function as more than just an office—it had to become a destination that employees would genuinely want to commute to. Working with Hendy as architect and designer, Pacific Companies turned to Tangram to curate furniture solutions that would bring their hospitality-centered vision to life across diverse zones including executive offices, wellness rooms, break areas, phone rooms, and open workstations.
How we brought the vision to life
Tangram approached the project with a clear philosophy: create a luxurious oasis that prioritizes comfort without sacrificing functionality. The team carefully curated premium furniture selections that would establish a hospitality-focused atmosphere throughout the space. This meant moving beyond traditional office furniture to embrace pieces that felt more residential in nature, featuring rich leathers, natural wood grains, and unique textures that would invite touch and create visual warmth.
The design strategy incorporated strategic pops of blue and gold to create visual interest while maintaining a sophisticated color palette. Tangram sourced from prestigious manufacturers including Steelcase, Restoration Hardware, Bolia, and Viccarbe, ensuring each piece met both aesthetic and performance standards. The furniture curation supported the architectural vision of interconnected spaces, with pieces selected to enhance natural flow between employee-centric amenity areas while accommodating specialized functions like the podcast room, fireplace lounge, and full wine bar.
