## Meet Donovan Hyde: Bringing Construction Expertise to Commercial Design
We're excited to introduce **Donovan Hyde**, our newest Project Manager at Tangram Interiors. With his background as a General Manager in construction and home improvement, Donovan brings valuable field experience and a solutions-focused mindset to our commercial design projects.
### From Construction Sites to Design Studios
Donovan's transition from construction management to commercial interior design represents the kind of cross-industry expertise that strengthens project delivery. His hands-on experience managing construction teams and navigating complex building challenges gives him unique insight into the practical considerations that make or break design implementations.
"Some people get bogged down by roadblocks, but I like to find creative solutions and keep moving forward," Donovan explains. This problem-solving approach is exactly what commercial design projects need—someone who can anticipate construction challenges early and develop workable solutions.
### California Roots, Family Focus
A California native who grew up in Arcadia and now lives in Covina, Donovan values quality time with family. His biggest accomplishment this past year? Completely rebuilding a 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser with his son—a project that required patience, precision, and attention to detail. These same qualities translate perfectly to managing complex commercial interior projects.
When he's not coordinating project timelines, you'll find Donovan spending time with his wife, cooking dinner, or tackling household projects. He keeps things simple with his phone apps—just email, maps, and Pandora—and never leaves home without his wallet.
### Looking Ahead
Donovan is particularly excited about the growth opportunities at Tangram and learning more about our various divisions. His curiosity extends beyond work too—he'd love to learn more about engine building and repair, and jokes that he wouldn't mind trading places with the NFL Commissioner for a day.
### Why This Matters for Commercial Design
Bringing construction management experience into commercial interior design creates stronger project outcomes. Donovan's background means he understands:
- **Construction sequencing** and how design decisions impact build schedules - **Material logistics** and what works in real-world installations - **Team coordination** across multiple trades and disciplines - **Problem-solving under pressure** when unexpected issues arise
This practical perspective helps bridge the gap between design vision and construction reality—a critical factor in delivering successful commercial projects on time and on budget.
Welcome to the team, Donovan. We're looking forward to seeing how your construction expertise enhances our commercial design delivery.
