Tangram 10

Meet Joe Rodriguez

Please join us in welcoming Joe Rodriguez to Tangram! Joe is joining the team as a GSA Sales Executive, previously working as a UX Sales Strategist with a focus on 'Blue Ocean Strategy.' This world traveller has spent much time on both coasts, living between NYC, SF, LA, Laguna Beach and Palm Springs. When he's not in the office, you'll find him in Sonoma or shopping his way down Fifth Avenue. We are thrilled to have Joe's excellent work ethic and integrity at Tangram and look forward to collaborating with and learning from him. Welcome, Joe, we're happy to have you!

1. Name, title?

Joe Rodriguez, GSA Sales Executive

2. Where is your hometown and where do you live now?

I was born on a small island called Manhattan, raised in Brooklyn, schooled in Connecticut and always considered California home. Living between NYC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Laguna Beach, Pasadena and Palm Springs.

3. What type of company did you work at previously and what was your role there?

As a UX Sales Strategist focused on ‘Blue Ocean Strategy,' we developed sales methodologies to formulate progressional frameworks and transformative pathways toward revenue growth and logistical success.

4. What’s your guilty pleasure?

McConnell’s Ice Cream from Santa Barbara CA, simply the best ice cream in the world.

5. What was your first job?

I delivered newspapers to all the teachers in grade school; however, my first paid job was sweeping floors and handling the register for my aunt’s dry-cleaning business, and my first real job was micro-filming stocks and bonds on Wall Street at age 16 on weekends and holidays. I loved it.

6. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I love many regions of Spain, spending a great deal of time there for work, but my nirvana is at The Sea Ranch on the Sonoma Coast of California.

7. At which store would you like to max-out your credit card?

Maxing out my credit card has never been an option, although I’ve had a few spending sprees at Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys NY, and Amazon.com

8. Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?

Throughout the years I refer to one quote that is ingrained in memory: “You can't cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water” — Rabindranath Tagore.

I attribute my work ethic to my mom & dad, earned integrity & cooking to my aunts, and my UX sales methodology to two mentors, one was a former Sales Manager who emphasized the importance of striving for excellence, and the other focused on distinguishing oneself in the marketplace.

9. If you had to listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

"Ain’t No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell

10. What are you most looking forward to in your new role and what do you hope to bring to the team?

I have always held the team at Tangram in the highest regard as a group of highly specialized professionals and experienced individuals. I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of the team in a collaborate environment toward mutual success.
