## Meet Rick Camarero: Tangram's New Project Manager Brings Hospital Experience and Championship Drive
We're excited to welcome Rick Camarero to our Santa Fe Springs team as Project Manager. Rick brings valuable healthcare project management experience from Hoag Hospital, where he successfully managed complex installations from start to finish—everything from artwork and furniture to medical equipment and facility relocations.
When he's not coordinating projects, you'll find Rick pursuing his passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (he's been training competitively for 10 years), cheering on the Dodgers, or crafting custom projects in his garage workshop. And yes, he's promised to keep us entertained with his legendary dad jokes.
### Getting to Know Rick
**What's your background before joining Tangram?** I worked at Hoag Hospital managing projects from beginning to end—selecting, procuring, and overseeing installations of artwork, plants, signage, furniture, medical equipment, and handling relocations. It taught me the importance of coordinating multiple moving parts while maintaining quality standards.
**Where do you call home?** I grew up in Watts and Norwalk, and now live in Downey with my dog Zoe.
**How do you spend your weekends?** Mainly training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu—I've been at it for 10 years and still compete. It's been part of an incredible transformation; I went from 325 pounds to 250 pounds over the past few years. The discipline and problem-solving skills from martial arts actually translate well to project management.
**Any local spots you'd recommend?** I'll drive to East LA once a month for Villalobos Birria Tacos—they're absolutely incredible and worth the trip.
**Favorite holiday?** Christmas is special because my family flies in from Florida. It's usually the only time we're all together, and they come to my house, which makes it even more meaningful.
**If you didn't need sleep, how would you spend that extra time?** Probably working with my hands in my garage. It's my fortress for custom projects. I love building and creating things—there's something satisfying about seeing a project through from concept to completion.
**Met anyone famous lately?** Through my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu connections, I've met many professional fighters. Recently met Mike Tyson, which was incredible. I'm glad I met the current version of him—he's kind, humble, and isn't shy about speaking his mind.
### What Rick Brings to Tangram
Rick's healthcare project management experience gives him a unique perspective on coordinating complex installations under tight deadlines. His collaborative approach and attention to detail will be invaluable as we continue delivering exceptional commercial interior projects.
"I'm looking to build a long, healthy relationship with Tangram," Rick explains. "Growth opportunities are always my top priority when joining an organization. I hope to provide help for those who need it and gain knowledge from those willing to share it. Working collectively to be successful is key, and I hope to be an essential part of this team."
Oh, and he's promised to keep the office atmosphere light with his collection of dad jokes—whether you need a laugh or just want to roll your eyes.
Welcome to the team, Rick! We're excited to see the expertise and enthusiasm you'll bring to our Santa Fe Springs office.
