Get Outdoors S'more - Holiday Book 2023

American tech industry stakeholders are lobbying against President Trump's plans to cut student work visa regulations claiming it will harm the industry and deter international talent from studying in the US. Currently, international students in the US are authorised to work for three years after graduation before they require an H-1B visa. Trump's administration is considering a proposal to cancel the work authorisation aspect of student visas, according to The Wall Street Journal. Over 60 tech industry employers, investors and leaders, including Chinese start-up iFlytek, have signed an open letter to the administration, claiming the plans could result in 200,000 jobs moving to other countries. They argue that the changes would discourage international students from studying in America, and thus limit the number of positions filled by workers who were educated in the States. Digital economy think-tank Progressive Policy Institute has claimed that there aren't enough American graduates to fill the open roles in the country's tech industry.
